I'm wondering how you peep back up your sessions. Last time I backed up the song was 22 tracks on a close to 4 minute song, and it took up a CD and a half.
So I'm considering using winzip and zipping them up before I stick it on the disc. Is this a bad idea?
The way to go if you can do it is removable drives. They have *so* much space these days (and session files are getting bigger and bigger with all the tracks and processing we're doing), and they're so cheap. Much faster too, right?
However, I'm not doing that . I'm using CDRWs. CDRs are cheaper, but I make changes to sessions all the time, so I think it's cheaper and more convenient overall (fewer disks used, fewer disks I have to store). The CDRWs I'm buying these days have a very slim jewel case, so they take up less room. These days, I'm getting about two songs on each disk.
