Baby Question!

My Miscrosoft sound recorder gives me an error message:
Another Aapplication is recording audio. Stop recording with this other app and then try to record with Sound Recorder again.

I hadn't use this app in years but when I ran into trouble trying to use Cakewalk to record some music via my sound card, it pointed me in the direction of the Sound Recorder to verify that all was okay. Well it isn't!

Nothing else appears to be running. My suspicion is that there may be a conflict with Adaptec's CD Creator Software and/or my CDR.

Any ideas, pointers would help!

Basic Specs:
AMK K2 350, 128 ram, 10.1 HD, on-board full duplex 16 bit sound card w/codec card, yada, yada, yada!

It's possible that the program is conflicting, so here's how to shut it down and test to see if sound recorder will then work.

Press control-alt -delete........now highlight and end the program if you see and recognize the abv. If not, you can end most programs that are running EXCEPT EXPLORER.

Now try sound recorder and see if it works. Don't try cakewalk because you ended the program so it probably won't work. If you recognize the abv. for cakewalk, (I have cakewalk, but I am not sure if it is what I think it is), leave it running.
