i have 350 bucks and im debating which i should buy? the axiom seems great at about 330 dollars, on the other hand i can get the oxygen 61 for $170 and the mpd for about $130... this will be my first time buying a decent controller so if you could give me your opinion on good and bad on the hardware i would appreciate it.
If your eager to get a controller now with pads ect. Get the Axiom61, If you can wait and plunk down another $150, I would recommend the Akai MPK61 or if you can live with 49 keys, right at your budget level the MPK49. Reason being I personally like the feel of Akai stuff better both the way the keys play(Solid) the pads are in my opinion superior and the knobs/Encoders on the MPK's are actual metal shaft's rather than plastic so they are more durable and less prone to being snapped off. Check em both out and you will see a major quality difference.
I wont say don't go for the Axiom as that they are getting to be more the "Standard" controllers and are pretty compatible but I like Akai just a bit better.
If your buying from GC make sure to price shop online before you buy, they meet and beat prices.
