Trailing Behind Again
I have Reaper on my laptop so I could learn how to use it. I haven't been able to record anything new in quite some time, but check this out and let me know where my hearing loss is getting the best of me:

Such A Shame

Thanks!!!

I haven't been around awhile. I guess posting so late at night is why I ain't getting any responses, huh?

Or is it just plain shit?

I think it would sound a bit better with a little less verb on the vocals...they just don't seem to fit with the music. Dry them up some, and see if they sit a bit better. That's the only thing that really sticks out to me....the guitars and bass seem to sit pretty well right now.

I have the backing vocals panned hard, I was thinking of bringing them to center.

And back off on the verb.

Thanks Ed!

The singing sounds... kinda... just, kind of off to me.

I know you can't really help that, but it sounds like you doubled it up alot. The background music is decent, it just sounds kind of off-pitch in several parts.

What sounds off pitch? The vocals or the instrumentals? I'm a bit confused....

:o

The Vox sounds off intermittently... not much, but the doubling wideness and overall loudness of them sticks out.
Otherwise quite OK tune.

Yeah, cut back on the verb etc.
There seems to be a slight timing issue between the panned guitars too.
Not bad song - just needs some work.

I think the more distorted guitar has a little timing issue-I would imagine its damned near impossible to record when you are on the ship though...
Is that the 12 string part panned to the center? I can't remember what I did on there other than the solo.

I really miss the Darth Vader part on the original demo though--it was just too cool!:D

I took the 12-string part out of this mix, and tried to do something with the distorted parts and the out of time issue. Funny thing was, when I moved Rabbit's drum mix so that he was a beat early, almost everything was lined up. When I got the drums perfect, the distorted guitars were funky. I think I will put the 12-string back in, and take out the worse of the two distorted parts, and leave on in under the mix.

Unfortunately, I also submitted this song to be copyrighted, so I had to take out an obvious violation...:o

Hmmm, maybe I might need to edit it out of the older demo of it on my Soundclick then maybe....
