I'm going to treat a small 4x5x6' place with 703 1". It's in a walk-in closet at my dad's dentist office. My house is too noisy for recording, so I'm going to use his closet on weekends and nights when noone is there. Haha weird idea, I know, but it's the quietest place I could find.

So anyways, I was in there just to measure the dimensions and stuff, and really the room is like 8 ft across, but I can only use a small part of it because there's this huge metal machine thingy in the way, so I only get like the first 1/3 of the room which is ok with me. Anyways, this is the problem:

The metal machine is skinny, but huge at the same time, it's about 7 ft high. The metal frame is like a thick semi-rectangulat/circular pole, and it's HOLLOW. All parts of this monster are hollow metal basically. I was singing in there, and I get this resonation from the hollow metal! It really isn't that noticable, but still. When I put up plywood, then insulation in front of it, do you think it will still happen? I wouldn't think so, it's not that audiable as it is, but just thought I'd ask.

And if you're here to tell me "well plywood and 703 isn't going to do you much good in the first place", please don't, unless you know how to improove my recording results on a budget of less than 300 dollars :D
 
If the machine is on casters, pop the typical plastic cap off the top of the tube, and fill it with play sand using a big-ass funnel.

It won't resonate any longer.

Or, if it's on casters, wheel it out of the closet to record, and when you're done, wheel it back.
 
unfortunately I can't, it's about as big as a typical shower, and can't be moved easily......
 
You mjght consider, when you are recording, wraping the metal thing with moving blankets. that might deaden the resonating
