The 747sp has eq built in. Don't know how the DBX stax up against the compressors in the 747. The 747 is uses tubes, I don't think the DBX does.

the 747 is a MUCH higher quality piece of piece of gear than the dbx160. if the price is reasonable, i would definitely buy if from your friend. and if you dont, how much does your friend want?
