Does anyone have any thoughts on the Avalon VT? I'm thinkin about gettin one.

Well, about anybody that has one will shoot anyone coming to close to their unit. They seem to be *very* good on anything you run through it.

(at that price, I wouldn't expect otherwise)

Herwig (wants a 737 for his bass but will have to go for a U5)

The mic pre is pretty good... not great, but definitely useable... the equalizer [especially the top an bottom band] makes the unit worth the price of admission all on it's own!! The compressor is rather 'hit or miss'... if it works for a sound, then you're in good shape... if it doesn't work for a sound then you'll know in about 5 seconds that you need to try something else. The ability to send the two mid bands of the equalizer to side chain the compression has made the compressor in the 737 about the most useful De-esser I've ever met... perhaps even more useful than a DBX 902 which is a pretty tall order.

I hope this is of some assistance.
