Can a logical editor in cubase be tasked to automatically trim pauses between audio events/phrases to a predetermined value? If so, how?

If the answer is yes, then I shall be very annoyed after using cubase for 40 yrs +.
I hope somebody know this trick, because it would be so handy.

I cannot believe I never noticed this after all these years! Stupid or what?? Cheers Jimmy, and thanks to mikerad for asking the question. Damn I cannot believe this!

Truth be told, I didn't know about it either until mikerad asked the question. This will save me tons of time editing!

Thanks man! (y) 8-) ?:guitar:

Hi guys! Thank you for your quick replies and gratitude. :) I'm glad my question appeared useful, but to be honest, I wasn't asking about removing pauses, but about bringing them to one common value. (This is necessary when recording poetry, for example, so that there is a rhythm in the recitation.) Apparently, I didn’t formulate my question quite precisely - English is not my mother tongue.

Ah - I see. No expert in poetry, but if it is read to some kind of time related feature - like a click, then you could treat it like music phrases, but you would need to create a tempo map to reflect the pace/meter. Then each phrase could be quantised to align, but I've never heard of anyone doing such a thing - and manually what a pain! I'm not sure musical applications would understand poetry - especially when it's common for some phrases to be elongated to match the syllables.
