I am interested in hearing from owner/users of automatic disc duplicators. I have not found any references with the search engine, other than "tower types". I prefer the concept of unattended duplication, but have been unable to locate any reviews, discussion, etc.

---Thanks!!

Only ones I've seen that allow unattended dupes are the "robotic" types - some even include a printer. You just put 50 or 100 blanks on the stack, push the button and come back later. Oh, and pay lots of money first - the ones I've seen run anywhere from $1800 to $3000. No reviews though, sorry... Steve

I've got a tower or two as well as a Bravo disc publisher. It's fully automated, and though it ain't the speediest motherfucker, it does do the damn thang all by itself, including printing. The reason I call it "slow" is because it only has one drive in it for burning CDs. The more expensive units can be outfitted with up to four burners, I think. They can also print on up to 8 discs at a time, and each with a different graphic!!! Anyway, for the poor man's solution, you can check it here: http://www.primera.com/bravo/bravo.asp

Nice to have dupes being made while other things are going on though, and it is probably best to have a PC setup just to run the machine, as opposed to one machine that's "feeding" the bravo AND doing other stuff (you can probably surf the web while it's running, but I use a different machine for that, too)... I think it ran me about 1300 or something like that. I see 'em on Ebay now, but always new, and not much lower priced than from your favorite bricks & mortar retailers.

I woulda bought a larger capacity unit if I could've afforded it.

What exactly do you wanna "hear" about? I love mines...

Oh yeah, if you get the Bravo, make sure you buy the kiosk mode kit for an extra 50 bucks. You'll see it on Primera's Bravo page.

Thanks Diendolo for your response. I was interested in hearing about reliability issues, ease of use, reproduction quality, etc. I am interested mostly in the auto-loading type (who wants to babysit a tower full of cd burners??) Are the robotics very fragile??

I am expecting to have to pay $1000 -$1400 minimum through retail channels...maybe less on Ebay.

I have seen the Primera, Microboards & Telex units @ the Musician's Friend website, and found them interesting. The Microboards appears to be the least fragile looking unit. I don't really care about the integrated printer options.

Any comments from actual users of any automated types would be greatly appreciated.

THANKS!!!

I am an actual user of an automated type, and I told you what I think. In addition:

No problems in the last 3 months or so (since I copped it)...

ease of use - even my stupid ass can get my brain around it in no time...

reproduction quality - Wunderbar...

auto-loading type - The Bravo is once you drop 50 in the kiosk jammie...

Are the robotics very fragile?? - In my opinion, nope. I don't play soccer with it, just let it do its' thing:D...
