Can you use envelopes for low or high pass filters?
I tried it with no audible success.
I want to increase the amount of a low-pass filter as a track goes along.
Can this be done in CEP?

I don't think so - not with an envelope, anyway.

The only way I can think of is to highlight one ten-second section of the song at a time, and apply a gradually different filter to each section as you go along - something like that. If the changes were small, you might not hear the 'joins'.

Actually, you can do it in multitrack. The effect is called "Dynamic Eq" or something like that. I tried it once, and it works perfect, but takes a bit of getting used to. Going from memory... I think it has 2 envelopes. One for cut, and one for resonance, and there's choices for bandpass, notch, lowpass, and highpass.

Dakota is right, but it takes alot of CPU power. Save you're original track, and then apply the effect in EDIT view and save as an effected track. Dynamic EQ is the one, though I don't think its a very pleasant filter. There are hundreds of free filter plugins availible for download- one because there easy to program, and two because there such an essential element in dance music.

Check out the Northpole Filter, its got a neat envelope section and is capable of some wicked harmonics
