I was wondering if THIS
company (on ebay) is comparible to Auralex. Has anyone bought from this guy? I wonder if it's worth it to pay the extra $$$ for the Auralex LENRD bass traps.

The general consensus is to skip foam entirely and go with 703 fiberglass or Mineral wool fabric covered panels. If you are dead set on foam I would be silling to say that these guys are probably better bang for the buck because they are so much cheaper and they are so much cheaper because there is no retailer profit.

Innovations,

You might say that - but you would be wrong.

Ethan Winer actually purchased some of their foam and paid to have it tested - the numbers are no where near those of the Auralex products. You can find the results at Ethan's website.

In fact - the manufacturer recently stated that they have never had their products tested - and only estimate the absorption coefficient (funny how their numbers are almost identical to Auralex) - this due to the fact that they don'tuse a consistent product - but rather whatever they can get the cheapest at any particular time.

Their product materials are not the same as the Auralex products - nor do they have the same density.

They are not a better buy by any means.

Sincerely,

Rod

Absolutely. Foam By Mail is a rip-off. Stay very far away. For half the cost, you can put up a 4' tall, 2' wide, 4" thick chunk of 703 or mineral wool that will do a MUCH better job.
