Has anyone used this microphone? Its ridiculously cheap so i figured i'd find out if it'd be a good choice for a kick drum mic. (I dont have the money to spend on an expensive kick drum mic)

How much is ridiculously cheap?
Sometimes........... $ cheap = cheap performance!

It's a 50 dollar mic unless the price has changed since I bought one last year.

It's okay as a hobbyist starter mic but if you are more serious, you probably should save up for something better.

I also use a small homemade sub kick with the F12 for a little more low end. Most of the kick sound in the mp3 demo below comes from the F12.

I love your stand for your sub kick.

Yeah....I think I found that brick in my backyard. :laughings:

I didn't really have an easy solution to attach the speaker to a mic stand. The speaker itself is pretty heavy...it's from a JBL nearfield monitor...so I used a brick for a mic stand. :D

A couple of mini bungee cords later and I'm good to go.

:p

And the speaker fits almost perfectly in the notch on top of the brick.

It was just meant to be I think.

:laughings:
