audition problem

i have a daul xeon 2.4 mhz with 2 gig utra low leg memory and 2 10,000 rpm sata drives server computer when i record and sometimes play back i get a lot of clichs or dropouts ? i useing s-meter to monitor my drive uses when it happings i see large spikes in my dive windows on the operating system drine all my audio stuff is on the secound drive can any one help i have shut down everthing taht i don't need to operate ther system in the sevices folder whats up help. thak you studiops150

I'll do my best here, but deciphering your post is quite difficult.

You have 2 drives, Adobe is on one drive while Windows is operating off the other?

It sounds like your cpu is processing too much on the windows drive while you attempt to record on the other... Not sure why though.

Maybe re-install Audition on the master drive with Windows, and merely store your audio files on the slave drive. It doesn't make much sense to me, as my CPU is barely even at 20% when I record.

thanks guy that worked it was a lot of work, but it did the job i guess i read the article wrong i put all my adio stuff in drive b instead of just the mix folders GOD BLESS YA if you only knew what i been going thru trying to fegure out the problem now i can get to work way behine thanks again

Well, here I am trying to have a good time and help you have one too.

And here you are trying to get your attachment working and not having success.

I answered the first half of your question.

As to why your attachment didn't attach, well...I guess I'm not the best person to ask that question of. I'd ask yourself, if I was you. And here's why: in my experience, when things don't work, the reason for why that is can be traced, 9 times out of 10, to user error. Attachments are straightforward. Try again.
