Hi, I'm a new user here. I'm building myself a PC for audio work, but am stuck on choice of card. Basically i want something that I can afford with 8 in 8 out audio channels (don't care what format as long as they're analog). The two cards that fall into my price rang are the Terratec EWS88MT - which I've heard and sounds very good, and there are a few used ones around.
The other card which i am considering is the Audiotrack Inca88 (made by a division of Egosys). I can't find any reviews, but it is the same price new as a used EWS88MT (about £180), and has more options (ie 2 headphone outs, 2 mic pre-s). The only problem is i have no idea what it sounds like. This is the most important factor - i don't care about software as i have all i need.

Has anyone got this card? Has anyone read any reviews? Any advice would be gratefully appreciated.

Cheers,

Jamie

inca88

Well Jamie,
I bought one a while back and have been unable to make it work with XPpro and my lucky star K7VAT board/viakt133 chipset so I'm changing my mobo to an ECSk7s5a which I hope will do the trick.
The people at audiotrack were very helpfull with support and the folks at Tracertech exchanged the board with no problems. I'll do another post when Victory is mine.

cheers man,

let me know what its like when you get it working, i think it might be the card for me...

Inca 88 and ecs k7s5a mobo

I went to the ecs mobo and I still have no sound in sonar 131 but games and media player will run so there may be hope. I'm getting some tired of friggin with the darn thing though. If I had .50/hr for the time wasted I coulda bought a G4 mac and had a CD made. That's the big problem with PC's, you are forever screwin with them. The mac may be slower and more expensive but they WORK!
