I sent the following message to the Midiman tech support staff and this is the response i got. It leads me to believe that i will be waiting for quite some time before they get the WDM drivers to work in 48khz. Since they don't seem to know the difference between WDM and MME.

Ps. Why tell people that your product can do 48khz and even 96khz, but not tell them about USB Audio limitations? But this is my fault, I didn't really read the fine print. The AudioSport duo can do 48khz and 98khz when you are using the SPDIF connection. I doesn't say anything about the USB, which was the whole reason that I bought the box in the first place.

----message starts here---

This is due to the limitation of USB Audio. The USB AudioSport Duo using MME is only capable of 16bit 44.1khz.
Best regards.

The Problem:Running Cakewalk\'s Sonar, I can only use 44.1khz with the WDM driver. I can use 48khz if i revert to the MME driver (setting the switch in Sonar\'s audio pulldown). Using the WDM driver: I set the audio bit driver to 24bit, and the file depth to 24bit with the sample rate set to either 44.1 or 48k --> no audio. I set the audio bit driver to 16bit, and the file depth to 24bit with the sample rate set to 48khz --> no audio. I set the audio bit driver to 16bit, and the file depth to 24bit with the sample rate set to 44.1khz --> NOW I GET AUDIO. Using the MME driver by setting the flag in Sonar: Now, I can get 48khz audio to record with the driver bit depth still to 16bit; however, because it\'s MME, the latency makes it impossible to monitor while recording. To sum it up: 1. the bit driver is 16bit, not 24bit 2. the unit can not record in 48khz with the WDM driver 3. the unit can record in 48khz with the MME drivers but the latency is intolerable.
