hello, guys

My audiophile's MIDI "IN" has been acting weird since I upgraded to win XP. It like doesn't recieve any midi in most of the time, but then it does every once in awhile. Any idea??

by the way, I have tried both .26 and .27 drivers

Thanks

Gidge:

Thanks for the advice, it does make sense to go back to what worked, but, for now, I am still hoping for ways to fix this without changing back to 98, XP is pretty cool, u know :) Thanks anyways

sorry, i was being a smart ass......imagine that.......

just alot of people dont realize that when using a PC to record, you SHOULD pick out your soundcard and software first, then everything should be built around that....ive seen people here change soundcards because it wasnt compatable with their computer......

but im sure there is a way to get it going.....are you un-installing the old drivers before you install the new one?.....is it maybe a bad midi cable?.....

at worst, you could dual boot and use W-98 for audio recording only and XP for everything else........

I have tested the MIDI cables, and I think they work fine. I was wondering if there a software that kinda scan thru my MIDI connection and MIDI port to ensure that they are working or what's not working?

Thanks, Gidge. Dual system sounds like a good solution.
