I am now looking for my first 2496 soundcard. My needs are small so I really don't need alot of ins and outs (I can't afford to by a mixer to really take advantage of a 1010). Mars is currentlsy selling the Audiophile 2496 for 179.99 . . . What do current users think about this card? I am looking for something to work well with my VIA chipset in XP PRO (According to midiman, XP issues have been fixed for their WDM drivers and VIA chipsets). Anyway, dropping 200 or so on a sound card is kind of a big deal for me since money is so tight right now, and I want to make sure I make the right choice.
