audiophile s/pdif to RCA??

I use gigastudio and wanted to have the audiophile record to itself (by looping an output on the card to an input) from gigastudio to a sequencer. Since this card has only two analog ins/outs, I need to either go from s/pdif to RCA or RCA to s/pdif. First of all, which way is better. Second, what kind of cable(s) do I need to do this?

you can't just connect an analog out (in) to a digital in (out). you'd need an additional a/d(d/a) converter to do that.
