Audiophile question

I am new at this so bear with me.

So it looks as if I am going to buy an Audiophile 24/96 for my HP Pavilion. Will this sound card act as my computers soundcard as well? or do I need to have the original (which is hardwired into the system) working too and use both of them. If I can just use the one, the better for me i would think.

you can disable the onboard in BIOS and use the Audiophile for system sounds, but you may wanna keep the old card activated for its MIDI capabilities.....the Audiophile has MIDI in/out, but not an onboard synth....if you need midi capability, keep the card......
