I have a behringer mixer ub1202....it has a L and R main outs...would i just put them into the 1 and 2 inputs on the breakout box?

That will certainly work for getting whatever you have mixed through your mixer into your PC. To get individual instruments you will want to be sure your channels are hard panned L/R.
