Hi,i currently use an Audigy2 ZS with Home Studio 2004XL
I'm planning on upgrading to an Audiophile 2496.
Could i keep the Audigy2ZS in my system and use it for playback and install the Audiophile and use it for recording?

Basically,i want the input of the Audiophile to record from, and the output of the Audigy to my speakers.
Is this possible?

Thanks for helping

Yes. But the Audiophile is better in and out, so why use the Audigy?

If you must, ensure the Audiophile is selected as the record timing master in Options/Audio while keeping the Audigy as the playback master.

Thanks,that's good news.
I know it sounds like i'm defeating the object but i have reasons for doing this.

I'm fairly new to home recording but have started taking it a little more seriously, with my limited budget i can only afford one thing at a time.I'm currently using a 5.1 speaker system that won't play very nice with the Audiophile, hence the need to use the Audigy. This is only until i can afford a decent pair of monitors to hook up to the Audiophile, then maybe i'll scrap the Audigy.

Just my way of easing myself into it i guess.

Thanks for the helpful reply,
Dave

I use Live player and Herculess fortissimo 2 and maudio delta all 3 together for inputs and everything works fine.

you shouldnt worry, computer doesnt know that they are all sound cards! :)

have a nice recording time!

Thanks for the replies.
I've found some new monitor speakers i can use with the Audiophile so i'm going to use that solely for recording and playback.

I'll probably leave my Audigy and 5.1 speakers in tact so i can play around with the new surround stuff in Sonar4! :D

Thanks again all.
