audiophile 2496 vs. audigy 2

they both record at 24/96, they both have midi...the audigy 2 even has a convieniant front pannel with headphone jack, volume knobs and midi ports...

so why is the audiophile more expensive? and why is soundblaster not a good choice for recording?

Quality a/d and d/a converters, driver support.
The audigy's ASIO driver only supports 16/48 unless you buy the Audigy 2 Platinum eX which is at least $50,- more expensive than the audiophile
