Audiophile 2496&CD ROM

I installed my 2496 awhile ago and noticed that there was a cable from the CD rom that was hooked up to my previous soundcard. I didn't find a spot on the 2496 for that cable from the CD ROM, and now I am not able to hear anything playing on the CD ROM. What do I do? Or 2496 just doesn't support CD playing?

took me a while to figure this out, but if you play a CD with a newer version of Windows Media Player, it will work, no wires needed....

You need to enable digital CD audio in 'Device Manager' of Windows. Just open the 'Properties' of said drive, and look at the 'Properties' page within that applet. There should be a checkbox for this option. (At least that's the way it is in W2K and XP...Not sure how/where it's listed in Win9x)
