Alright, I'm pretty upset right now. I bought an Audiophile 2496 sound card/interface and was pretty pumped for it. I got it today and decided to try and install it. For some reference, I have an Acer Aspire AM1100-B1410A (more or less the same as mine).
ANYWAYS! I take the side off my computer and look for a slot to open for it. Now I'm not normally a big idiot, but today I did some stupid things. The covers to the slots ... I don't know, aren't screwed in, they're there with force. So I had a bitch of a time taking the slot covers off. After doing that, and ruining a bit of the back of my computer, I realize that I took the wrong slot out. So, thats permanently screwed.
I then did the next cover, but it went to a green slot ... not a white one (and didn't fit). Oh, and for some reason, heres a big problem. The sound card is too big for all the slot openings. So I had to bend shit to try and set it in. Including the soundcard's front as well. I am all very upset and angry about this. Fudge!
So then I do the same to get it to a white slot... but it doesn't fit there either
So now I kinda of screwed my computer (the back anyways) and the soundcard's front. And I'm on a different computer.. hopefully I didn't mess up my computer ..... I'm afraid to turn it on.

Why would my sound card not fit into the computer slot to begin with?!?! Please help with anything.. I am so fumed about this..
