I have been using an Akai DPS16 for a while now but am looking into trying PC recording. I will continue to use the DPS16 for some things and also as a mixer input for my soundcard. I have an order out for the M-Audio Audiophile 2496.

If I use the digital out of the DPS16, it will be doing the conversion to digital and passing it down the line to the soundcard's digital in. If I use the analog outs of the DPS, I will be using the Audiophile's converters. Anyone have an inkling as to which would yield better sound quality? Will I even notice?

I'm not familiar with the DPS16 but unless it's converters are pure shit then chances are you won't hear a difference.

I find that you have to run something through A/D conversion several times over, plus have good monitors and good ears to hear a noticeable difference.
