Sup all! Current I have the following equipment/software:
Fruityloops 3.56
cubase vst
acid pro 3.0
behringer 8ch midi mixer
dr. 670 drum machine
nearfield monitors
edirol pcs-50 midi controller
audigy platinum sound card

I want to upgrade to a delta44 or a audiophile 24/96. Will there be a real difference in sound when I use soundfont/gm patches on a delta series sound card? Because when I use the virtural sound canvas some patches sound great and some sound fake.

The Delta cards do not contain sounfont banks.
If you are using a virtual instrument that contains soundfonts, the quality should be no better or worse as they are pre-recorded.

Thanks for the reply. Since I'm using soundfonts patches, should I run two soundcards? How do I set that up?

Simply install them both into their own slots. Make sure they are not sharing an IRQ - with each other or with anything else, ideally. You might want to do some research to verify that they are going to get along in your system, though. I have a Delta 44 along side with a D-Man PCI (mostly for midi), and they are fine together.

You'll want to set up the M-Audio card as the master clock card, and the Audigy as a slave. Also, don't expect to be able to record audio with both cards simultaneously. Apparently, there will be timing issues with the two cards, resulting in pops and clicks and stuff. That's getting beyond my scope, though, so I'll stop here.

What would you recommend if I want to produce some quality sounds? (Triton rack with a midi controller or the keyboard)
Are there any soundfonts out there that can sound as good as some of the top sound modules? Man........, the patches from the Roland edirol sound canvas sound okay. But, I don't know if there is anything you can do to them to sound more real/fuller.

If you have a midi controlled software instrument, I recommend you look into CD samplers of live instruments pro recorded in 24 bit. You wont find anything closer to real.

Which CD sampler would you advise? The type of music I'm doing is Hip/Hop, R&B and Jazz. If you have any links, it would help me out alot.

Thanks
