i record my keyboard into sonar. i also do mic tracks. i want NO HISSING! which card should i get?

audiophile24/96 or delta 44, or the soundblaster audigy platinum.

my engineering friend told me to stay away from soundblasters for they don't have the best converters? i just wanna have a good sound card.

thanks

good advise from your friend. :)

as for audiophile or delta44, both are great! :) it really boils down to your application and the thickness of your wallet! ;)

due to my third world country budget, i should be receiving my audiophile this weekend. :)

You shouldn't even use SB Audigy in the same sentence as the other two!!:)

Definetly Audiophile. I'm gonna pick one up myself in the near future.

sounds to me like you don't need to record more than 2 tracks at a time...in which case the audiophile would be the best choice...

the delta44 would expand that to 4 tracks at a time...

newbie hehe

if your just recording at home by yurself...you don't reallt need more than two tracks right? I mean like for drumms I'll just use fruity loops so I'm not gonna be needin more than two tracks right?

ummm...well....

I guess that it depends on what you're doing....I record by myself at home and use 4 tracks (but that's drums....) and could actually make use of 8 tracks if I had 'em...

if you're just recording guitar or bass or keys...than 2 tracks is probably sufficient....

now, if you have one of those one-man-band setups...that's another story:D

yea

definitely 44, then audiophile (in my opinion)

hermitology

One man band here hehe...I'm researching hermitology, currently living in a closet under the stairs with the beer fridge acting as a bed/table/stove/studio...this sucks!!!no well uh thks dude

I use 3 or 4 mics at once for acoustic guitar and vocals. Sometimes you might want to record 2 people at the same time. If you can afford it now the extra inputs are nice to have if you ever need them.

A simple 4 track setup for one person could be:

Vocal Mic
Stereo Acoustic guitar Mics
Acoustic Preamp direct or additional acoustic mic
