I downloaded the manual for the 24/96 because I am considering buying one. I have a question on the inputs for recording.

According to the manual, you can connect a LINE LEVEL signal from your instrument, mixer, or pre-amp. The actual connectors on the card are RCA phono type.

Don't most mixers, pre-amps tend to use XLR or 1/4 outputs? If this is the case, is it a common need to get a RCA phono to 1/4 adapter (or XLR if that animal exists) when using the 24/96?

Also, the system requirements do not show Windows XP as a supported OS. Anyone using this under XP?

Thanks in advance

Jim

My mixer has record out RCA Jacks that I send into the RCA in of the Audiophile. I think most mixers have that option, but I am also looking into finding a way to go XLR -> RCA, or 1/4" -> RCA to expand my options.

Yeah you will need some sort of adapter cable. I have an Audio Buddy with 1/4" outputs, and found a dual Hosa RCA->1/4" cable at Musician's Friend for ~$4.

I am using it with XP (no problems)
