So I am trying to get 8 extra channels of ins and outs (mostly outs if it ends up being one or the other...) in Protools with an Audiofire8 (I borrowed the audiofire from a friend) as a slave to my MAUDIO 1814 using adat optical by tomorrow.

I've since discovered that I need to install the drivers for the audiofire and tell it to use ADAT and not spdif through the optical ins and outs. (took me forever to get that far) My latest problem is that I just installed in the software and read the manual that says there is an option in the settings tab to choose "digital mode" (adat or spdif) BUT in the settings tab there is nothing that says digital mode. (where the box is in the picture in the manual, is just empty space on my screen) also it wont let me choose a clock source other than internal. its just greyed out.

(the other odd this is that since discovering that the audiofire was likely using SPDIF and not ADAT, I set my 1814 accordingly and STILL go no signal. the light on the front for spdif in was green but showed no input signal in protools or in the maudio control panel Why is that? is there gonna be even more problems after I get this part fixed??)
