Audio transformer suggestions?

If I were planning to replace the transformer in my Nady RSM-2 with one with less HF roll-off, what transformer would folks suggest? I particularly liked the Shinybox Lundahl samples, so I'm looking for something with that sort of sound, but which Lundahl transformer? LL2911, maybe?

Ideas?

is a transformer expert. Call him up and pick his brain..he will point you in the right direction.
 
I can't say for certain, but I believe that's the same transformer Shiny-box is using in their mics. I put one in a Oktava ML52-2, it was a noticeable improvement.

I have done this mod...it's a good project. It opened up my cheapie ribbon...especially on the upper end.

I just got two of them in the mail today. I'm going to do this mod in the next couple of weeks. I'm still deciding how to wire it....

The only wiring configuration they show (which is oddly described as a "connection alternative") has all of the primary pairs wired in parallel between the two signal lines from the ribbon, which if memory serves, should result in higher power (W) on the output (1+1+1+1:37 configuration). The wiring scheme that I'd sort of pictured in my head was wiring each of the primaries in series for higher voltage output (1:148 configuration).

12 dB of extra gain or higher wattage? Any thoughts?

Wow, that is really more of a Lab question, but to my knowledge, increasing the output of a ribbon via a transformer has a detrimental effect on frequency response :confused: It's somewhat analogous to using stronger magnets, I think.

Where is Marik when we need him :confused: :(

Paralleling the primary windings will give the bigger ratio. Putting the windings in series will make for a smaller ratio.

Can you post the data sheet?
 
seems like you're trying to put a precision racing engine into a a Yugo.
