I am thinking about ordering these. See, my uncle owns a lot of Shure SM57s and 58s, and he lets me use his equipment to record, and when I recorded drums, with both the 58 and the 57, the bass drum sounded wimpy. sounded more like a tom than a bass drum...im assuming thats because those mics dont pick up low frequencies well at all. Even with EQing, it sounded like crap basically. So, would the bass drum mic here be any good? I know it's a cheap set, that's why I am wondering...I could care less about the other 2 mics in the set (although they will be welcomed additions if, in fact, they are good...)...I just want to get a great sounding bass drum basically...the rest hasn't been too hard for me to get a great sound out of toms, snare and cymbals....
thanks!

This would probably be a better deal . It seems that the really killer deals on the pro25 have dried up a bit, but this is probably a better mic for bass drum.

...

Well, I am selling something on ebay, and I was planning on using that money for the mic....and its selling for way more than I ever imagined, so I actually think I am going to get a Shure PG52......I wonder how much different it sounds compared to the Beta 52? Anyone know?

I believe Harvey had recomended the AT over the beta, but I'm not really shure(shure...get it), anyway, I have one of the pro25s, and I like it. But Im not real picky when it comes to drum sounds.

You for sure don't want to use any of those AT mics on a kick drum. A friend of mine has a set like that, only it includes two of the mics with the ball end instead of just one. He gets decent results using the ball end ones on toms. I borrowed one of the other mics, since he doesn't use them, and compared it to an SM57 on toms. The SM57 was tops all the way.
