hey - i just went to guitar center intending to buy a new 57 for a tom mic. the pro audio guy told me about these at dr-gx1's and said he had used them on drums and a-b'd them with a 57 and could not hear any difference, anf that at's intention was to make their version of the 57. he recommended i buy one and save the cash ($50 v. $90). being leery of this type of advice, especially since there is no return on mics, i bought one of each, figuring, for $50, i will find a use for it...
i will let you know how it sounds, particularly in comparison to the 57.
