Anyone know if these are good detailed mics with smooth, not-overhyped top end?

I use a 4041 all the time, it's very very nice.... I used it on acoustic guitars, spanish guitars, voice-overs (when other mics caused too much sibilance with a particular talent's voice), and even mic'ing amps.

It gives excellent results, especially considering the price!

I found em for around $179... I'm trying to find some 4051's for cheap...

I'm not sure but I believe tubedude might be thinking of the 30 series.I have never found the 4041's for anywhere near $180.00

The A-T 30 Series small diahragm mic models [AT3527 & AT3528] can be found for around $140-$150 as thev'e been discontinued. The AT 4041 has a street price of around $299.

Yep, $179 for the 4041, but they are bulk style, no box or anything... as soon as I'm POSITIVE, I'll let you know where... I'm actaully mounting my search for the 4051, though... a little more expensive.
