Hello,

I've had this microphone for about 4 years working normally, but I tried using it the other day, and the only signal coming out of it was a loud crackly hissing. If you tap the microphone u can vaguely hear the tapping through the speakers, but is masked by all the loud crackly hissing.

I have tried different cables throughout the chain, different preamps, different sound card inputs, different speakers, and phantom power was most definitely on. So the problem 100% lies within the microphone and nothing else in the chain-

any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks! :guitar::guitar::guitar::guitar::guitar::guitar::guitar::guitar::guitar::guitar::guitar:

First, toss the mic in a bag with lots of desiccant packs for a day, it might be moisture in the capsule.

If that fails, it's likely a bad component, it could be the tube or it could be something else. Changing the tube in a 3060 is a delicate procedure so if you aren't experienced with stuff like that I'd get a tech to do it.

I don't know if AT is still supporting repair of that mic but it's always worth contacting the manufacturer.
