Hello to all. I'm using Cubase 6.0.4/64 on a Sweetwater Creation Station with an Intel core i5, 3.33Ghz,, 8G RAM and Windows7-64, Motu 896mk3 and an 8Pre for interfaces. The issue I am struggling with is that when I'm doing certian types of editing ( split at cursor, erase, move to cursor, etc.), I lose audio playback. This doesn't usually happen immediately, but after a few edits. All transport functions work, but there is no audio. I must save and close the project, close Cubase, then re-open Cubase. Needless to say, this is most annoying. Any ideas?

Could be a driver issue.

I FINALLY got over one with my MOTU 896 (original) and Cubase. What driver are you using? MOTU's?

Yeah, been down that road several times. I'm using MOTU's latest and greatest 64 bit driver. I'v tried contacting them about this, but their customer sevice stinks.

Really? I thought their customer service has really stepped up their game from their practically non-existent service from a few years back.

Try using ASIO4ALL and see if that helps.
