When I want to record somthink from cd into cubase it wont record it unless I start playing the CD first.

This is a real problem because when I select a track I want from the beging I will loose about 5
seconds of the start.
It seems that cubase will only record when audio is already
active from the sorce.

Also why!! can I record somthink in other programes and it plays back good when recording in cubase its realy bad full of hiss. the sample is set the same?

I don't quite understand this one. Your recording from a homestereo/CD player, into your computer. Enable the 2 tracks your using to record on, and hit record. Then hit play on your CD Player. Cubase should start recording, it doesn't care if there is a source or not. Your sure you don't have a metronome count in or something?

If I'm thinking correctly... (which sometimes is a problem)... then you are using the CD mod inside of the VST program. If thats the case then the best tip I can give you would be to use a program called audio grabber instead of VST.

VST is really not designed to rip CDs.... it is Virtual Studio Technology.... the main design of the program is MIDI sequencing and Audio recording.

The Audio Grabber engine is a CD ripper that can rip CD's to wav or mp3 file formats... it might be possible to do the same thing using VST but it not the programs main design..... i think thats the largest part of the problem.... maybe...... i might have had too many liquor drinks to understand the question ..... who knows...
