Hey Guys and Gals,
As I have posted before, I have just bought Audio Logic Platinum and I am only a few steps away from being a beginner. Well I have worked for years in the analogue environment, but have just now decided to take up computer recording. I was initially only intrested in the Yamahy AW 4416, ROland VS1880 Work Stations of the world, but was convinced after a good two months of posting here and music store employees laughter, to go with a home computer. So I went out and became familiar with what spec's a PC needs etc... then finally bought my PC. She is brand new, and is a beauty I must say. I will up-grade from 128 to 256 and higher MB RAM in the next few months when I finally install my Delta-66 / Omni I/O sound card-pre-amps breakout box, and get ready to go to audio.
Right now though, I am trying to eat this huge manual for lunch and it just isn't going down. I knew that this was a monster of a program, and that a "newbie" shouldn't mess with it until they had learned on a simplier program.. but fuck that. Why buy a go-cart when you will eventually need a Cadillac. My mother made the same mistake when I was 11 years old and wanted my first guitar. She bought me one of those 3/4 guitars that are made for kids. I mean it was a decent guitar for it's size, but I grew out of it in less than a year and she had bought a $400 memory for me to laugh at after I got my Stratacaster the next year.
OK. The Point....
I am only trying to get the hang of MIDI at the moment. I understand the whole concept fine. I even know what MIDI stands for, which is actually a lot moe than most peopl. (You'd be surprised!) I have ordered a book by a German man that was highly recomended to me. It is written in English, and supposedly will walk you through step by step through MIDI productions, audio recording, mix downs, track bouncing etc...
But it is on backorder at www.Amazon.de (It isn't even listed on amazon.COM... only in Erope.
So Now I am trying to power through the technical terms and I am not doing terribly, but since I am isolated here (as far as finding English Speakers is concerned) I was sincerly wondering if I could ask everyone that has the Audio Logic line programs running on their computers to make yourselves knows to me. I asked in a previous thread for ICQ numbers, and got 35 views, and ONE response without a number. I am not going to annoy the hell out of anyone, I just would like to put some heads together and see what everyone is thinking about this program.
Thanks guys,
Mike
PS If you don't want to give your ICQ number to me then how about an e-mail or at least a post saying... I HAVE THIS PROGRAM!!!!
