Audio Interfacer?

Suggestions for one that is very good quality and cheaper than the delta 1010? I'd prefer for it to have the external box like the delta 1010, and i'm not sure about whether or not I need a lot of ins and outs cause i have my mackie 1202 mixer and i just need a way to send it to my computer. Thanks
 
Seeing as i know close to nothing about recording... how would it effect me in the future as for getting a bigger mixer, etc. What I'm saying is, how does the amount of ins/outs effect the amount of simultanious tracks that can be recorded? And can you, say, double up on the interfacers (if i got the delta 44 and bought another a year from now, would it work like it had 8 ins/outs?)

edit: And also, is there any sound quality difference between the two?
