Audio interface help please!! Urgent

HEy i kinda needa answer in the next day or so, ok so i bought the mbox 2 and was told it works with cool edit, but now im told it doesnt so first question does it????......2nd i i bought the mbox 2 mini for like 230 , is ther anothr interface that is the same price, as good????
 
The mbox is designed to be use with pro tools, but I would asume it would work with cool edit. But part of the reason the mbox is so expensive is because you are paying for the fact it can be used with pro tools. If you plan on using cool edit, I'd say buy something like a tascam us122 or whateever it is. Or a presonus firebox, which is FireWire and is faster with more tracks.
 
i would most definitely recommend the Presonus Firebox. Only 200 on musicians friend and a great little interface at that. it even comes with MIDI I/O and S/PDIF I/O. i love mine
 
You should also definitely check out the portable audio interfaces from Tascam & MOTU. It will work seamlessly with your Cool Edit Pro workstation.
