Hi;
Recently I have had a problem with recording and playing back Audio. it falls out of sync. I first noticed it when I recorded first one track, and then a second track. To verify, I set the metronome to playback, and as the project moves along, the Audio did indeed fall out of time. this is recent, as earlier projects do not show this symptom.Now, I can't even record one track without it falling out of time. (No dropouts, though!)
OK, now my system and settings:
SONAR XL 1.3 PIII 450, 192megs RAM, 30 gig hard drive for Audio, SONAR and other programs on 9 gig HD. Win ME, Delta Audiophile with latest WDM drivers (5.12...) latency 8ms. (I constantly defrag both drives.) USB 2X2 midi interface. Am I leaving anything out? Probably. I don't know what other info you guys may need, but let me know.
Thanks in advance,
Tony

PS, it may be a 1.3 problem, since the other projects were recorded before i "upgraded."

Do a search on Sonar Upgrade in this forum. I don't have it, but I've heard about upgrade nitemares!!!!

Are you trying to record at 24/96? Try a different sampling rate. Stick with either 44.1 or 48 and I doubt you'll have any problems. A lot of machines have trouble keeping up at 96k. It's awfully demanding and doesn't really sound any better.

I had this problem too tonester, I found if I was on the net,,or doing something else, it would fall out of sinc. Also you have to mix down your audio before you export audio. this worked for me.
If anyone disagrees, let me know,,I am new to this myself, this program is trial and error, but step by step it gets easier.
good luck, and keep it up.
