They have this on sale audio buddy + 990/991 mic for $49.

Nothing realy special but I could use a another mic and back up interface. The mic kit is usualy $99 and the buddy is around $80. It wont improve my recording any but well give me some extras and possible present for my brother.I could easily get $50 a piece on ebay if I just wanted to sell them.

Do you think this is worth it?
So whats more important quality or quanity?

I might be better off just upgradeing my mic but I always worry about someting breaking if I do this ill have emergency parts, If something goes wrong I wont have to stop recording untill I get replacements.

Should I get this or improve my chain?

I had decent luck with my Audio Buddy. Seems to work well most of the time. Some mics require the full +48v of phantom, and I think an Audio Buddy is a bit lower than that. Not sure though.....

I ain't crazy about the 990 and the audio buddy is probably on par with a yamaha mg or older mackie preamp, except the low phantom power thing. The audio buddy will distort pretty easy at certain frequencies too. If you throw a mic pad or two in there, I don't think you can go wrong for $50. Who has it for $50?

Guitar center instore only..
What do you think of using this as a backup/xtra parts?

I use the mxl 990 and dont realy want another but for $16 a piece.
None of the parts are great I have no use for the 991 and the audio buddy will probaly sit in the closet unless something bad happens.

so you think its a pretty sweet deal?

For that price, I think it's a good deal. I used the Audio Buddy for awhile.

If you want a backup in case something happens then grab it. Otherwise, save for something that can actually improve your sound or give you more options.

By em all, sell em on ebay, then get yourself a new vocal mic with the profits.
