Audio Buddy

ok im rather new at this stuff, and im looking into buying an Audio Buddy. i think it has 1/4 inch outputs, so how does that connect to your computer? do i need to get a 1/4 to 1/8 adapter to plug into my soundcard? one other thing is im not looking into buying a new soundcard but just using the one on my computer because im on kind of a budget. thanks

It does have 1/4 outs, as most pre's will. You will either need an adapter, or a card that accepts 1/4. I have a Delta 44, pretty inexpensive, and works. 4 inputs. If you can, try and spend a bit more, and get a DMP3 or equivelent. I have read teh Audio Buddy does not put out a true +48v of phantom power, and this can cause some problems with certain mics. It never affected me, but a few ohers have said it worked improperly for them.

i dont need phantom power, i have an SM57, i think im just gonna stick with the audio buddy because its cheap and simple. but if i get a 1/4 to 1/8 adapter do i plug it into my line in on my soundcard?
 
Yup! Always plug into the line in, never use the mic input, cause it has a low quality preamp in it that is pretty much only good for doing voice conference stuff online!

thanks guys, the reasoning im getting an audiobuddy is because i bought the M-Audio Fast Track USB. and well, its kinda the worst thing ever. the audiobuddy seems so much more simple. and ive heard good things about it.
