Audigy 2 question

A friend of mine is interested in purchasing this card and he has one question!!
He will be using Logic Audio and using soft synths!!
Now,he would obviously want to have his tracks on cd ,therefore, the song has to be converted into a stereo wav file!!Can he do this by using the optical out from the Audigy into the optical in on the Audigy and recording it into Wavelab or Soundforge!!
Does this work and are there any tricks on how to achieve this!!
Anny comments would be greatly appreciated!!

The easiest way would be to just export the project to a single stereo-file. I'm shure Logic can do this, look in the manual.

(And what's with the !!'s ? )
