i listend to this guys interfae coparison,. and the lewitt sounded less sibilant to me:

im trying to decide btw these two intefaces. THe id4 was valued as top interrface by some utubers, but this one interface comparison video makes me unsure if the lewitt is better or not.

i currently have a scarlett solo 2nd gen. I want to upgrade to antoher small interface

Hi everyone,

I’m currently evaluating audio interfaces and am trying to understand the technical reasons behind the sonic differences I’m hearing between the Audient iD4 and the Lewitt Connect 2.

In listening tests (using a Rode NT1), I’ve observed that the Audient iD4 captures a significantly "sharper" and more sibilant high-end, while the Lewitt Connect 2 (even in "Clean" mode) sounds noticeably "smoother," "thicker," and contains a metallic/harmonic texture on electric guitar that is absent in the Audient capture.

On the Lewitt each input channel has three preamp models, a clip guard, low‑cut filter, compression and a denoiser- The Clean preamp is transparent (the default setting0; Warm is a muddier version where all the top end is pretty much gone - and Vivid where the top end is loaded on and very smothering.

IMO The Lewitt is for a newbie recorder - the Audient is for a more experienced one - personally I don’t want my interface to add any thing in - I just want it to produce whatever I give it.

ofc i dont want a colored sound either. But i think this utuber set the preset to 'clear' which means no coloration otherwise what's the point of such a test. And the guitar sounded to have much more texture aka having an additional metalic sound. Don't u hear it?:

In the clear setting I heard the coloration - but had turned on the clip guard, low‑cut filter, compression and a denoiser - are yours on?

I’m not saying anything about a YouTube video - I am saying that the Lewitt has got a lot of stuff installed - you could to the same thing on your Scarlett by just stacking the various plugins on your Two Buss - but if money isn’t an issue just buy the Lewitt and see if you like it.

i wanna know which one produces the more natural sound without the effects
I would say either one - according to the manual the Lewitt has to have one of the preamps going - so if you like that sound more than the 2i2 then go fo it.

i sdecided for the id4. The utuber cant be trusted. He's shady and not transparent. And eveyrone tells me to go for the id4.

I use an ID48 along with an 880 (and an OPX1073). I like it for drums so far. I like it in general
