Audacity has changed!

I'm sure I'm one of the last to realize this, but somewhere back in the last year Audacity introduced "real-time" FX and other new features that take it out of the very basic audio file manipulation and kind of "destructive" editing capabilities that I use. I only discovered this because the old version (2.x or something) on my Mac started crashing any time I tried to record - seems to have been triggered by the update to Ventura... Anyway, I'll have to see if I can still easily do the things I've used it for in the past, but I will say this is an interesting, and probably welcome, if not a bit overdue, update to good "freeware."

I've been on the latest version of Audacity for quite a while and all the things that I did on the old versions still work. I really don't use the updated features much, but it's great for quick and easy mods, cropping the audio or redoing fades.

I don't think you'll see any disadvantages to the latest version. I am currently on 3.2.5.
