ATM25 vs. ATM250

Hi!

I know, from searching these forums, that the ATM25 seems to be a mic of choice when it comes to kick drums and bass micing. The thing is I haven't found many comments on the newer version, the ATM250. If I could find and ATM25 at a decent price I would probably go that route, but the ATM250 is, obviously, much easier to find and I could get a nice deal on a brand new unit.

So, basically, the question is how does the ATM250 compare to its predecessor? Does it still hold against the competition?

I not sure but I don't think they make the 25 any more, but one can find them used all day long on ebay and craigs list for any where between $50. to $100. They are a great microphone and highly sought after---I like mine on the snare or floor tom for example.

But on the other hand the 250 is right up there on price!

There were just a few 25 for sale in the fee ads forum here on HR but you have to be quick for they sold with in the first few hours of posting.

So to save some cash look for the 25 used and you will be very happy with your purchase.;)

The 250 definitely has not caught on yet - I ran into that issue a while back when I was trying to sell some extra ones I had. I highly recommend on bass drum and toms. You should be able to buy one new for under the $150 mark.
