Can anyone tell me what the scoop is on these mics? The salesman at GC said they sound better than the 57s. Since they are made for GC, what other AT mics are like this one?

Yep, this is me smokin' crack! I was wondering if anyone really helps these questions, then I discovered I goofed AGAIN!
The mics in question are the DR2900 instrument mics from Guitar Center. Can anyone tell me the story on these mics (their exclusivity to GC, what they are compared to on their 'regular' line of mics, etc...). Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!!!!
