ASUS A8V Deluxe midi connection.

I use a lynxTwo soundcard that doesn't support midi. Can I use my old soundblaster live card for the midi connection and disable the audio on it without causing a conflict? The motherboard does have an internal game/midi connector(with nothing connected to it) and it also currently shows an MPU-401 Compatible midi device and a standard game port in the device manager under sound,video and game controllers although there is no external connection.

After looking at it a few times I have discovered a midi connector module hiding beneath my wireless card. Now all I need to do is figure out how to use it Back to the drawing board!

You could also get a simple USB MIDI interface that would work just as well, if not probably better.
