Asio System Overload - how do I change this

Hello Everybody

I've got the following problem:
I work in Logic 4,7 with an Emagic EMI 6|2 USB interface. The interface seems to be pretty cool, VERY low latency etc...
My problem is the following: When I have some 4 VST-Instruments, 1 audio and some midi tracks running simultaneously, I'm getting the "ASIO: System Overload" message all the time.
Now, the qestion is: Is the PC (read: processor, ram, hd) or the interface the problem?
I admit that the PC isn't the fastest (450 P3, 256 Megs RAM, Win98 SE) - I'm just thinking about keeping the interface or not. If the PC's the problem, I can keep it - if it's the interface I won't.

So what do all you gurus out there say?
Thanks
alex

Thats probably just your computer sucking wind. I have twice the speed and get those errors on occasion.

4.7 is picky. 450mhz is a little to slow when using VST's and multiple effects. You should try to optimize your system for audio recording. Upgrade to the max. processor your mobo can take. At least 800mz. Your ok on RAM. If you dont want to spend the dough, you can always do a bounce on a track with the effects active to create a new track, then shut down the effect for that chl. This will take some of the strain off the CPU.

What is Logic's system perfomance utility telling you? I usually get that when the cpu is bogged. It doesn't take much at all to bring my 1gHz PIII down.
