ASIO out of SYNCH..???

I use an AKAI ws and transfer tracks via a spdf connect and an soundblaster audigy souncard. When recording anything into cubase ( SX or VST) the track stops recordingafter a few seconds(occasionally a minute or so..) and gives me a message that reads" Audio engine record error: ASIO went out of synch". I have gone under ASIO multimedia setup and tried adding buffer size, and tried to chg the synch reference option but to no avail...
when the computer tests the synch, it changing the buffer size does seem to lessen the "synch lost" but the recording still stops!!!!

what soundcard do you have?
could be that you need to reinstall the driver, or see if there's an pdated driver.. this happened to me once about a year ago and thats all i had to do..

I'm using a creative extigy...the strangest thing happened...perhaps a fortunate accident...my computer went into safe mode after I posted..after i rebooted, the ASIO is in synch....
I'm not going to F w/ the settings and keep my fingers crossed.Thanks for the driver tip...
